I continuously find this topic conflicting and troubling for a bunch of reasons:
We
have bad cops; who want to rule without question; they want respect.
We have cops who go to work so they can do a job and go home alive; they
want to be respected. You have residents (color or not) who want to
live their lives (maybe hustle on the side/maybe not) and be respected.
You have Gang-members/Criminals who commits crimes and they want to be
respected (and feared).
Everyone
has examples of being right and all has examples of wrong behaviors.
Now I would like to know when can we work toward a 'rule of engagement'
that will allow everyone to feel respected; do their jobs; live their
lives and stop the killings on my streets?
How about we start by learning to treat each other as we would like to be treated
