One of our most important appointment today is to visit Dr. Duval Coles at this clinic in Leogane. Mr. Cole is Nadine's Uncle and he would like to build an adoption home in Haiti. At first, it didn't appear that I would get along with Dr. Coles; when Nadine introduce me to him; he waved his hand as if to brush me away. The good Doctor, I found out later, is tired of "foreigners" coming to Haiti, saying they will help and do very little.
After the introduction, I sat near the Doctor opened my book and started to read. I didn't say a word; I was the obedient child to the grow-up - lol. Unfortunately, my friends was uncomfortable because they saw how offended I was by the brush off; however, I sat there politely and quietly and enjoyed my book.
Eventually the good Doctor asked me my name; what do I do and why did I come to Haiti. I told him and he told me of his dream to build and adoption home. At the end if was a great meeting.
